Sold for: $160
Description
This is an Italian Carcano Model 1938 bolt-action short rifle chambered in 7.35x51mm Carcano, presented in a sporterized configuration. The rifle features an integral box magazine designed for six-round en-bloc clips and a fixed rear sight arrangement. The original military wood stock has been modified with a shortened forend, and the upper handguard and bayonet lug assembly are missing. The metal components exhibit a blued finish throughout. Extensive markings are found on the barrel shank, including a crown over RE TERNI, the manufacture date 1939 XVII, and the serial number R 480. The rear sight base is stamped CAL. 7,35, and the barrel shank features the distinct boxed SA property mark of the Finnish Army (Suomen Armeija). The right side of the buttstock is stamped with the serial number O 7815 and retains a faint circular cartouche. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a moderate amount of their original blued finish, which shows thinning and wear consistent with age and field use, particularly along the barrel and receiver. The sporterized wood stock exhibits various dings, scratches, and impressions throughout, with the forend having been shortened. The upper handguard and bayonet lug assembly are absent. The action appears to function correctly, although the firearm has not been function-tested or test-fired. The bore was not internally inspected.
