Lot 598:
Sold for: $45
Description
This lot consists of a 150 count of .30 caliber bullet tips manufactured by Sierra for use as ammunition reloading components. The collection includes two distinct packaging styles containing different projectile types. The first is an early production green cardboard box marked Sierra Bullets, Inc., Santa Fe Springs, Calif. and 110 GR. R.N. specifying round-nose projectiles. Verbatim markings on this box include handwritten notations of 131, 137, and $3284H along with a white price sticker marked $14.00. The second container is a green plastic Sierra Pro-Hunter box labeled for 100 RIFLE BULLETS. The side label of the plastic container provides technical specifications including 30 CAL .308 DIA 110 GR. FMJ CARBINE and the product code 2105. The projectiles include both jacketed soft-point round-nose and full metal jacket (FMJ) designs suitable for .30 caliber rifle cartridges such as the .30 Carbine. These items are projectiles only and do not include brass cases, primers, or propellant.
Condition report:
The copper jackets of the bullets in the cardboard box exhibit significant surface oxidation, tarnishing, and dark spotting consistent with age and storage. The cardboard box shows heavy shelf wear including frayed edges, corner tears, and surface abrasions. The plastic Sierra Pro-Hunter box is in good structural condition with only minor scuffs and handling marks on the exterior. The bullets in the plastic box appear clean and free of heavy oxidation. All components appear serviceable for their intended purpose as handloading components.
