Description

This is a single Argentine Model 1909 bolt action infantry rifle manufactured by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken in Berlin and chambered in 7.65x53mm Argentine. The rifle is configured with a 29-inch barrel, a blued receiver, barrel, and floorplate, and a bolt assembly and shroud that remain in the white. Key markings include a well-defined Argentine national crest on the receiver ring and the model designation MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909 on the left side of the receiver. The side rail is transcribed DEUTSCHE WAFFEN- UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN. The serial number C 2696 is visible on the receiver and bolt handle, while the wood stock features the stamped number A 9159 on the right side. The rifle is fitted with a full-length wood stock, a hooded front sight, a tangent rear sight, a bayonet lug, and includes its cleaning rod. Small star symbols are stamped into the heads of the buttplate screws. An original Mauser-branded hang tag marked Cal. 7.65 is attached to the middle band. The action appears to function correctly, though we have not function-tested this firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The receiver, barrel, and floorplate retain a significant portion of their original blued finish with areas of minor surface wear and light freckling. The bolt, bolt handle, and shroud are largely bright with some age-related dulling and minor surface oxidation. The full-length wood stock shows typical handling wear consistent with military service, including scattered dings, compressions, and scratches, but remains structurally sound. The action appears to function smoothly. The sights and hardware are intact, and the bore was not inspected.
