Description

This is a U.S. Model 03-A3 bolt-action service rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield. The rifle features a 24 inch replacement barrel manufactured by Remington Arms. The receiver is marked U.S. / SMITH-CORONA / MODEL 03-A3 above the serial number 3630553. The barrel is stamped R A above an ordnance flaming bomb symbol and the date 7-44 near the muzzle. The metal components are finished in a dark Parkerized coating. The full-length American walnut stock features a straight wrist and is marked with various arsenal inspection stamps, including RA-P with a crossed-cannon ordnance cartouche on the left side of the buttstock, an EF on the wrist, and B3 behind the trigger guard. The rifle is equipped with standard military iron sights, consisting of a windage-adjustable rear aperture mounted on the receiver bridge and a fixed front blade. It is completed with a checkered steel buttplate featuring a trapdoor for an oiler or cleaning kit. The action appears to function correctly, and the rifle displays the characteristic appearance of a World War II era arsenal-rebuild. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The dark Parkerized finish is in good overall condition, showing moderate wear and thinning on the high edges and bolt handle from handling. The wood stock remains solid with numerous small dings, scratches, and handling marks consistent with military service and storage. The bore was not internally inspected, but the muzzle crown is clean. The mechanical action appears to function smoothly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The sights are intact and functional.
