Lot 644:
Sold for: $95
Description
This set is a modern reproduction of late 19th-century United States military officer’s leather field equipment. The group comprises a wide black leather belt, a gilt-brass belt plate, a holster, and a cartridge pouch. The rectangular belt plate follows the Model 1851 regulation design, featuring a die-struck American eagle with a shield on its chest, an olive branch in one talon, and arrows in the other, all enclosed within a laurel wreath. A scroll above the eagle is embossed with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The black leather holster is designed for a large-frame revolver and is equipped with a full-cover flap and a brass stud closure. The rectangular cartridge pouch features a top flap secured by a brass stud and has dual leather loops on the back for belt attachment. The belt is constructed of wide black leather and includes a sliding brass loop.
Condition report:
The leather is in good, pliable condition with light surface creasing and wear. All stitching is intact. The gilt finish on the belt plate remains largely present with only minor wear on the raised motifs. Brass hardware shows a natural aged patina.
