Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 655:
Sold for: $300
Description
This lot consists of 560 rounds of Bulgarian military surplus 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammunition, primarily intended for use in the TT-33 pistol and period submachine guns like the PPSh-41. The cartridges are divided into individual paper-wrapped units, each originally containing 16 rounds and secured with natural twine. The exterior of the packages feature prominent purple or blue Cyrillic ink stamps which are transcribed verbatim as 16 БРОЯ, 7.62 М.М. БОЙНИ, and ПИСТОЛ. ПАТРОНИ. These markings identify the quantity per pack, the 7.62mm combat designation, and the pistol cartridge classification. The ammunition features brass cases and lead-core projectiles. This collection represents a standard Cold War era military configuration.
Condition report:
The paper-wrapped packages are in good military surplus condition, exhibiting expected age-related wear, light surface staining, and minor fraying of the twine. Several packages have been reinforced with white cloth adhesive tape to preserve the integrity of the wrapping. The brass cartridge cases visible through occasional openings in the paper appear clean and bright, showing no significant signs of corrosion or verdigris. The ammunition appears to be live and has been stored in a stable environment.
