Description

This lot comprises 320 rounds of Russian 7.62x38mmR caliber ammunition intended for use in the Nagant M1895 revolver. The ammunition is packaged in twenty-three cardboard boxes, each bearing markings in Cyrillic including РЕВОЛЬВЕРНЫЕ ПАТРОНЫ for revolver cartridges, калибра 7,62 мм for caliber 7.62 mm, and 14 шт. for the round count. Included with the live rounds are 50 empty brass casings of the same caliber, stored in a plastic bag. The entire collection is housed in an orange-painted metal ammunition can which shows significant exterior wear and bears the handwritten identification Russian 7.62 Nagant Revolver on the lid. This ammunition is characteristic of Soviet military surplus and features the distinct projectile seated within the brass case for a gas-seal effect.

Condition report:

The ammunition appears to be in good surplus condition, with the brass cases displaying a typical light patina but no evidence of heavy oxidation or corrosion. The original cardboard packaging shows various degrees of age-related wear, including some fraying at the edges and surface staining, but the boxes remain functional. The loose brass casings are spent and show expected oxidation from firing. The orange metal storage can exhibits significant exterior wear, including broad areas of paint loss, surface scratches, and oxidation on the metal surfaces, although the lid latch is still operational. We have not function-tested this ammunition.
