Hornady Custom-Grade New Dimension Three-Die Set 9x18 Makarov
Sold for: $40
Description
This Hornady Custom-Grade New Dimension three-die set is chambered for the 9×18 Makarov cartridge and is designed for use in standard metallic cartridge reloading. The Series III set, cataloged as Item number 544512, includes a full-length sizing die with an internal titanium nitride sizing ring and decapping pin assembly, a dedicated expander die, and a bullet seating die. These components are stored in a factory red plastic case featuring a foam insert and molded slots for each die. Transcribed markings from the original label specify Hornady Custom-Grade New Dimension Dies, 9×18 Makarov, Series III, 3 Die Set, Titanium Nitrid, and use shellholder number 8. A secondary handwritten label on the case lid reads Hornady 9X18 Mak. Please note that the molded slot for the shell holder is empty and the shell holder is not included with this lot.
Condition report:
The exterior steel surfaces of the dies, including the lock rings, adjustment nuts, and upper die bodies, exhibit significant surface oxidation and orange rust. The threads and knurled surfaces show visible corrosion and accumulation of oxidation. While the internal titanium nitride sizing ring is designed to resist wear and corrosion, the remaining steel internal components and the decapping pin assembly show signs of oxidation and will require thorough cleaning and reconditioning before use. The plastic storage case is intact and functional, though the foam insert shows some staining and indentations.
