Gun Collectors Dream Auction #85 Weapons of War July 18th 10AM CST
Lot 702:
Sold for: $275
Description
This lot features a Romanian TTC semi-automatic pistol, a robust derivative of the Soviet Tokarev TT-33, chambered in the high-velocity 7.62x25mm Tokarev cartridge. Designed for service use, it features a 4.6 inch barrel and a single-stack magazine configuration. The firearm displays a traditional blued finish on the slide and frame, complemented by black synthetic grips with vertical ribbing and a central five-pointed star containing the letters RPR, representing the Romanian People’s Republic. Key markings include the left side of the slide stamped with Cugir, Romania, Model TT-C, Cal. 7.62 x 25mm, and the import mark PW Arms, Redmond, WA. The left side of the frame is struck with a triangle proof mark followed by the serial number BG1897 and the production date 1956. The serial number BG1897 is also found transcribed on the top of the slide. This example includes one blued steel magazine with seven circular witness holes and features a frame-mounted manual safety added for US importation. The pistol retains its original fixed iron sights and external hammer. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol is in good condition, showing approximately 85% of its blued finish with thinning and silvering primarily on the sharp edges of the slide, the muzzle, and the grip straps. There are scattered light scratches and small handling marks consistent with military surplus service and storage. The bore is bright with strong, crisp rifling. The action appears to function correctly with a tight slide-to-frame fit, though we have not function-tested this firearm. The synthetic grips are excellent with no chips or cracks. The magazine shows minor finish loss from insertion but is mechanically sound.
