Sold for: $45
Description
This lot features a Parris Manufacturing Co. Civil War Kadet Musket toy training rifle, a non-firing replica measuring 37 inches in overall length. The item is constructed with a wooden stock featuring a high-gloss finish and black painted metal components including the barrel, lock plate, trigger, and trigger guard. Verification of markings reveals the lock plate is stamped verbatim as CIVIL WAR MUSKET KADET SAVANNAH, TENN. while a paper label on the left side of the buttstock reads CIVIL WAR KADET MUSKET over PARRIS MFG. CO. SAVANNAH, TENN. The right side of the buttstock displays a personalized carving that appears to read ARTHUR S. The toy is equipped with a functioning hammer and trigger assembly and includes an attached olive drab canvas sling. As a training toy, it does not possess a caliber or chambering. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The wooden stock retains much of its high-gloss finish but exhibits visible surface wear including scuffs, dings, and the noted personalized carving. The black painted metal components show light finish wear and spots of surface oxidation, particularly on the lock plate and barrel. The canvas sling shows age-appropriate fading and minor fraying. The hammer and trigger action appear to function correctly, though this item is a non-firing toy and has not been tested for mechanical safety.
