Description

A collection of 9 pieces of United States military canvas field equipment dating from the WWII and Korean War eras. The lot contains a variety of utility and ammunition pouches in both Olive Drab No. 3 (khaki) and Olive Drab No. 7 (dark green) shades, illustrating the transition in equipment color palettes during the mid-1940s. Included is an M1936 pistol belt constructed of heavy-duty woven canvas with brass eyelets and hardware. Ammunition storage is represented by two three-pocket sections of an M1923 dismounted cartridge belt for M1 Garand clips, an M1 Carbine 15-round magazine pouch, and two M1911 .45 caliber pistol magazine pouches in varying shades. Medical equipment includes a large vertical Jungle First Aid Kit pouch and a standard First Aid dressing pouch featuring a printed Medical Department caduceus. The group is completed by a small utility pouch. Many items feature stamped U.S. markings on the exterior flaps. Construction consists of heavy cotton canvas with metal snap fasteners and brass fittings.

Condition report:

Items are in good vintage condition and exhibit signs of field use. Observable wear includes fading to the canvas, particularly on the earlier khaki pieces, light staining, and minor verdigris oxidation on brass eyelets and hardware. One first aid dressing pouch shows a small puncture on the top flap. The canvas remains generally sturdy throughout the collection.
