Description

This lot consists of approximately 120 rounds of military surplus 7.62x54mmR rifle ammunition. The ammunition is housed in six plain white cardboard boxes. Each cartridge features a copper-washed steel case and a full metal jacket (FMJ) projectile. The rounds are Berdan primed and utilize a rimmed case design. A distinctive red lacquer sealant is visible at the case neck and around the primer pocket, a standard military feature for moisture resistance during long-term storage. The cartridge headstamps are marked with the factory code 10 at the 12 o’clock position, identifying production at the Kazanlak plant in Bulgaria. The number 89 at the 6 o’clock position indicates the year of manufacture as 1989.

Condition report:

The ammunition is in excellent surplus condition. The copper-washed steel cases remain bright with no evidence of significant corrosion or storage bloom. The red lacquer sealant remains intact at both the neck and primer. The cardboard boxes exhibit minor shelf wear and light discoloration consistent with age but remain intact. As with most Cold War era Eastern Bloc surplus, these rounds likely contain corrosive primers; proper cleaning of firearms after use is required.
