Description

This FEG P. Mod. 37 semi-automatic pistol is a Hungarian-manufactured firearm produced under contract for the German military during World War II. Chambered in 7.65mm (.32 ACP), the pistol features a 3.9 inch barrel and is equipped with a blowback-operated action. The design includes both a manual thumb safety on the left side of the frame and a grip safety. The slide and frame are constructed of steel with a blued finish, while the furniture consists of two-piece vertically serrated wooden grip panels. The slide features a serrated top rib for glare reduction leading to fixed iron sights. Verbatim markings on the left side of the slide include P. Mod. 37, Kal. 7,65. and the manufacturer code jhv positioned over the production year 41, indicating manufacture by Fegyver- és Gépgyár in Budapest. The serial number 45469 is explicitly stamped on the forward left side of the slide, the left side of the frame above the trigger, and the toe of the magazine floorplate. The firearm includes one matching detachable box magazine with a distinctive finger rest extension. Accompanying the lot is a vintage sales receipt from Country Cousin Liquors in Watsonville, California, dated November 8, 1968, which documents the purchase of this specific serial-numbered military model. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.

Condition report:

The pistol is in good condition, retaining a significant portion of its original blued finish. There is visible thinning and holster wear on the high points of the slide, the muzzle, and the front and rear grip straps. The wooden grip panels are well-preserved with minor handling dings but no cracks or structural issues. The bore is bright with sharp, well-defined rifling. The action appears to function correctly, with the slide and safeties operating as intended, though the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The matching magazine shows minor surface wear but remains fully functional. The associated vintage paper receipt exhibits expected yellowing and minor folds consistent with its age.
