Description
This lot comprises four distinct leather holsters and scabbards designed for various sidearms and tools. The group features a dark brown leather holster with heavy edge lacing and a snap-fastened retaining strap, a medium brown flap holster with a stamped decorative border and a teardrop-shaped fastener hole, and a light tan leather open-top holster with deep-relief floral and scrollwork tooling and a cutout for a trigger guard. The fourth item is a tapered dark brown leather scabbard or holster joined with heavy, light-colored rawhide lacing. These pieces are characteristic of Western-style leatherwork and are configured for various frame sizes and barrel lengths. No manufacturer marks, model designations, or serial numbers are visible on any of the items in this collection.
Condition report:
The leather across the collection exhibits signs of significant age and use, including surface crazing, cracking, and darkening. The tan holster displays prominent deep-relief tooling that remains legible despite surface wear and scuffing. Hardware components, such as the snaps and studs, show signs of oxidation and verdigris. The heavy rawhide and leather lacing on the respective items appears intact but shows signs of dryness. The interior of the holsters shows darkening consistent with the long-term storage of metal objects.
