Description
This lot comprises 350 rounds of Remington rimfire ammunition, primarily in .22 Long Rifle caliber with a single box of .22 Long. The collection is housed in seven original green cardboard boxes featuring the prominent Remington name and DuPont logos, with specific brandings for Kleanbore, Hi-Speed, and Kleankote. The inventory consists of six boxes of .22 Long Rifle, including five Hi-Speed boxes and one Standard Velocity Kleankote box, along with a single box of .22 Long Hi-Speed cartridges. Technical specifications for the ammunition include lead bullets seated in brass or copper-washed rimfire cases. Verbatim markings on the boxes include product codes such as 4922, R16, R17 K, and R21, with various boxes additionally labeled as Rim Fire Smokeless Cartridges and Made in U.S.A. The bases of the individual cartridges are stamped with a single capital letter U headstamp. Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, edge fraying, and some corner softening typical for vintage ammunition, with minor surface staining and light scuffing visible on several lids. The internal ammunition appears to be in live condition; however, the lead bullets exhibit varying degrees of white oxidation and surface tarnish. The brass and copper-washed cases show a natural aged patina with some areas of darkening and minor surface oxidation present on the rims and walls. The overall integrity of the packaging remains good, with flaps present and structural stability maintained.
