Description
This Colt Government Model semi-automatic pistol is a Davidson’s Exclusive limited edition known as the Potro De Plata or Colt of Silver and is numbered as one of five hundred produced. Chambered in .38 Super, the firearm is equipped with a 5-inch National Match barrel and exhibits a deep, high-polish blued finish with elaborate decorative scroll engraving covering the slide and portions of the frame. The slide is further enhanced with silver-tone inlays depicting a bucking horse and architectural motifs. The pistol features ivory-colored synthetic grips set with silver-tone Rampant Colt medallions. Key markings include COLT within the engraving on the left slide, GOVERNMENT MODEL on the right slide, and the manufacturer information COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A. on the right frame above the serial number PDO-208. The barrel hood is stamped -COLT SUPER 38 AUTO N.M.- to signify its match-grade status. This lot includes the original blue plastic hard case with a matching factory label for Model O1911C-38-PDO, a Davidson’s Exclusive certificate of authenticity, the original owner’s manual, a cable lock, and an orange chamber safety flag. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The firearm is in excellent, like-new condition, showing nearly 100 percent of its original high-polish blued finish with no visible wear or thinning. The engraving and silver-tone inlays remain crisp and bright. The synthetic grips are in exceptional condition with no cracks or chips. While the bore was not inspected internally, the external condition of the barrel hood and muzzle suggests it remains in as-new condition. The action appears to function correctly; however, we have not function-tested this firearm.
