Description
This is a Winchester Model 12 pump-action shotgun chambered in 20 gauge with a 2 3/4 inch chamber and a modified choke. The firearm features a takedown design, allowing for the removal of the barrel and magazine assembly from the receiver. The barrel is fitted with a single silver bead front sight. The metal surfaces are finished in a traditional bluing. The furniture consists of a plain walnut buttstock with a pistol grip and a grooved wooden pump forearm, both showing a protective gloss finish. The stock is capped with a factory-marked black checkered hard rubber buttplate featuring the Winchester logo. Key markings include the barrel address and patent dates: MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN. PAT. JULY 21. 1896. FEB. 22. JUNE 14. 1898. SEPT. 7. .909. MAY 17. 24. 31. JUNE 7. 14 28. JULY 5. 12. 1910. JULY 22. 1913. The left side of the barrel is marked WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – WINCHESTER TRADE MARK – MODEL 12-20 GA. 2 3/4 MOD. Both the top of the barrel and the receiver bear the Winchester WP oval proof mark. The matching serial number 732696 is stamped on the underside of the receiver and on the barrel assembly extension. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued finish is approximately 75 percent intact, exhibiting moderate wear including scattered surface scratches, edge thinning on the receiver, and fading on the magazine tube consistent with operation. Some light oxidation is visible on the barrel extension. The walnut furniture is in good condition with scattered minor dings and handling marks, while the glossy finish remains largely present. The bore is bright and clean. The action appears to function smoothly and correctly, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The factory buttplate shows light scuffing but remains fully intact.
