Description
This lot consists of a vintage cardboard box containing 25 rounds of Remington Express Extra Long Range 12-gauge shotgun shells. These are 2 3/4 inch shells in the RX12-5 load configuration, which indicates a 3 3/4 dram equivalent powder charge and 1 1/4 oz. of #5 shot. The packaging features the classic green and red color scheme and includes numerous branding elements such as the Remington script, the Kleanbore Priming designation, and the Du Pont oval logo. Verbatim markings on the exterior include Extra Long Range, Smokeless Wetproof Shot Shells, and New Remington Crimp. The bottom flap specifies the load data as RX12-5 and 3 3/4 – 1 1/4 – 5. The reverse of the box provides technical information regarding the proprietary Wetproof sealing process and Kleanbore priming, identifying the Remington Arms Company, Inc. with locations in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Ilion, New York, and referencing Body Patent 1,940,657.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including fraying and minor material loss at the corners and edges.
