Description
This Belgian-produced Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve is a recoil-operated semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch shells. The firearm features a high-polish blued finish with factory scroll engraving on both sides of the receiver, which is prominently marked Light Twelve in a cursive script on the left side. The barrel is fitted with a single bead front sight and lacks a rib. The furniture consists of a checkered walnut stock and forend with a high-gloss finish, complemented by a gold-plated trigger. The buttstock is equipped with an aftermarket White Line black rubber ventilated recoil pad by Mershon Co., Inc. Key markings on the barrel include BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo and MADE IN BELGIUM, with the side specifying SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4. The receiver underside is stamped with the serial number 6G 60214. Belgian proof marks are visible on the barrel, including a crown over ELG and the chambering designation 12-70. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good overall condition. The blued finish shows some thinning on the high points of the receiver and the standard wear patterns on the barrel associated with the recoil-operated action. The walnut stock and forend exhibit various light scratches, dings, and handling marks in the high-gloss finish, but remain free of cracks. The bore is bright and in excellent condition. The action appears to function correctly, though the firearm has not been test-fired. The gold plating on the trigger shows minimal wear.
