Description
This collection consists of 63 live rounds and 30 empty brass casings, primarily chambered in .35 Remington, and includes six associated vintage ammunition boxes. The assortment features packaging from several prominent manufacturers, including a Western Super-X Silvertip box, a Winchester Silvertip box marked for .30 Remington, a two-piece Remington-UMC box for .35 Remington 200-grain soft point ammunition, a Federal Rifle Cartridges carrier, a Peters High Velocity .35 Remington box, and a Farnsworth Ammunition .35 Remington box. Cartridge headstamps within the lot are diverse, with visible markings including REM-UMC 35 REM, R-P 35 REM, PETERS 35 REM, W.R.A. CO. 35 REM, and W-W SUPER 35 REM. One cardboard tray is present, housing sixteen cartridges. The live ammunition includes various bullet types such as soft point and silver-colored jacketed rounds. The collection provides a broad cross-section of mid-20th-century sporting ammunition.
Condition report:
The vintage cardboard boxes exhibit varying degrees of shelf wear, including edge fraying, corner crushing, minor tearing, and surface staining consistent with age and storage. The Remington-UMC two-piece box shows significant wear to the edges of the lid. The cartridges and empty brass casings display natural age-related patina, tarnish, and occasional surface oxidation. Projectiles show typical lead oxidation or tarnish on jackets. Primers on live rounds appear intact with no significant corrosion or signs of leakage.
