Description
This lot consists of five leather handgun holsters of various designs and configurations. Included in the group is a large, heavy-duty brown leather holster with an integral belt loop assembly and swivel hanger, which resembles the pattern used for the US Military Model 1917 revolver. The collection also features a dark brown leather flap holster with a rounded profile and metal stud closure, a dark brown leather holster with decorative perforated dot patterns and a brass stud, a plain dark brown leather holster, and a light brown leather holster with stamped decorative borders and a brass stud closure. These holsters are designed for various early-to-mid 20th-century semi-automatic pistols and revolvers. No manufacturer marks or model numbers are clearly legible on any of the items in this lot.
Condition report:
The overall condition of the collection is fair to good. The leather surfaces exhibit varying levels of wear, finish loss, scuffing, and minor cracking consistent with age and use. Stitching is generally intact, although some minor fraying is present. The metal hardware, including brass and steel studs, shows signs of oxidation and verdigris. The leather remains flexible but shows characteristic darkening and shape compression from previous use and long-term storage.
