Description
This is a Daisy No. 107 Buck Jones Special pump-action air rifle, manufactured by the Daisy Manufacturing Company of Plymouth, Michigan. The air rifle is constructed with a metal barrel and receiver and features a wood stock and a ribbed wood pump forend. The top of the barrel is stamped with the text: No 107 DAISY BUCK JONES SPECIAL / PAT. 1,886,561 OTHERS PENDING / DAISY MFG. CO. PLYMOUTH, MICH. U.S.A. The left side of the metal receiver is decoratively engraved with the name BUCK JONES surrounded by scrolled floral patterns. The wood stock contains two integrated features: a small round compass inset into the left side with a face marked DAISY and an incised sundial pattern labeled SUN DIAL with Roman numeral hour markers. The rifle is fitted with a fixed front blade sight and a rear sight.
Condition report:
The item is in used vintage condition. The metal surfaces exhibit general wear, handling marks, and areas of surface oxidation and patina throughout. The wood stock and pump forend show numerous scratches, dings, and finish loss from use. Both the inset compass and the stamped sundial appear to be original and are intact. The mechanical working order of the pump-action mechanism has not been tested.
