Description
A complete lot containing 50 Winchester .22 Short smokeless target rifle cartridges housed in their original two-piece cardboard box. The green top label features a prominent red diagonal SMOKELESS overprint across the center. Verbatim markings on the top label include 50 .22 CAL. RIFLE CARTRIDGES and MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN., U.S.A. alongside an oval mark specifying STETSON’S PATENT OCT. 31, 1871. The central label graphic illustrates a .22 short cartridge with the H headstamp trademark. Side and end panels provide additional labeling including SMOKELESS .22 SHORT and the circular WINCHESTER SMOKELESS trademark. The box contains a full count of 50 cartridges as indicated by the packaging and user-provided facts. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
Condition report:
The two-piece cardboard box shows significant age-related wear including fading and edge abrasions to the paper labels. There is minor paper loss near the corners and along the seam lines, with moderate staining and darkening consistent with long-term storage. The side and end labels remain mostly legible despite light scuffs. The box is full with 50 rounds that appear to be in good collectible condition with original bullets and brass cases, though they have not been function-tested or evaluated for internal corrosion.
