Description
This lot comprises a vintage two-piece cardboard box containing 50 rounds of Winchester Repeating Arms Co. .22 Long Rifle Precision 200 Lesmok rimfire cartridges. The ammunition is packaged in a traditional sliding-drawer style box featuring a white primary label with a distinctive diagonal red stripe. The top label is marked 50 WINCHESTER 50 .22 LONG RIFLE CARTRIDGES along with PRECISION 200 and the powder type LESMOK. Side labels are yellow with a large red W logo and specify TARGET CARTRIDGE and WINCHESTER MAKE. The bottom of the box displays a partial yellow label with manufacturer guarantee text and a stamped production or lot code of 533 5 20. The manufacturer is identified as WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN., U. S. A. and the label also notes MADE IN U. S. A. and RIM FIRE. Each cartridge features a copper-plated case with an H headstamp on the rim.
Condition report:
The two-piece cardboard box shows moderate shelf wear consistent with age including staining, edge wear, and significant paper loss to the bottom label. The ammunition is in vintage condition; the copper-plated cases exhibit tarnishing and various degrees of surface discoloration. The lead bullet tips show heavy white oxidation and corrosion. This ammunition is being sold as a collectible item and has not been tested for functionality.
