Description
This lot features two vintage advertising collectibles. The first item is a one-pound metal tin for Hodgdon H4198 brand rifle powder. The container features a yellow and olive drab label with the Hodgdon logo and identifies the manufacturer as Hodgdon Powder Company, Inc., of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. The label includes the promotional message Join and Support the N.R.A. at the base. The reverse side provides safety information and instructions for the smokeless propellant.
The second item is a wooden Coca-Cola bottle carrier featuring the 1940s World War II era War Wings design. The carrier is constructed of wood with metal corner reinforcements and a wire handle assembly topped with a red-painted turned wood grip. The yellow exterior is stenciled in red with the text DRINK Coca-Cola IN BOTTLES on the sides. The end panels display a circular red graphic with the slogan Pause… Go refreshed above the Coca-Cola script and a winged bottle motif. Two metal L-hooks are suspended from the handle bar within the carrier.

Condition report:
The powder tin shows moderate surface wear consistent with age, including light scratches and minor oxidation to the top and bottom metal rims. The Coca-Cola carrier exhibits significant signs of age and utility, including a full vertical split in one end panel and smaller cracks in the opposite panel. The yellow paint is weathered with staining and grime, and there is noticeable wear and loss to the red stenciled graphics. Metal components show surface rust and oxidation.
