Description
This Winchester Model 52 bolt action target rifle is chambered for .22 Long Rifle and designed for precision competitive shooting. The firearm features a heavy blued barrel and receiver mounted in a one-piece walnut target stock with a semi-pistol grip, checkered steel buttplate, and sling swivels. It is equipped with a hooded target front sight and an aperture sight base on the left side of the receiver. Transcribed barrel markings include WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL – MODEL 52 – WINCHESTER TRADE MARK – .22 LONG R.- accompanied by a circled WP proof mark. The receiver is marked MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. PATENTED on the left side and WINCHESTER TRADE MARK on the receiver ring. The serial number 44716 B is stamped on the left side of the receiver, and the bolt handle is numbered 44716 to match. A single detachable box magazine is included with the rifle. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The metal surfaces retain a significant portion of the original blued finish with some light handling scratches and minor finish thinning on the barrel and receiver. The walnut stock is in good condition, showing scattered minor dings and light impressions consistent with age and use. The checkered steel buttplate exhibits wear on the high points and some thinning of the finish. The action appears to function correctly, although we have not function-tested this firearm. The bore was not inspected. The included magazine shows heavy external finish wear and silvering.
