Description
This Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight is a pump-action shotgun chambered in 20 gauge for 2 3/4-inch shells. It features a bottom-ejecting design and is equipped with a 28-inch ventilated rib barrel fitted with a pink fiber optic front sight and a silver mid-bead. The receiver and barrel exhibit a blued finish, with the receiver displaying decorative roll-engravings depicting three ducks in flight over a marsh on the left side and a hunting dog and game birds in a field on the right. The furniture is comprised of a checkered walnut buttstock and forend featuring fleur-de-lis patterns, with a grip cap bearing the Ithaca logo and a red rubber ventilated recoil pad marked Ithacagun. Verbatim barrel markings include MODEL 37-FEATHERLIGHT-20GA.-2 3/4 CHAMBER-PROOF TESTED and ITHACA GUN CO., INC. ITHACA, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.-ROTO FORGED, along with a MOD stamp indicating a modified choke. The serial number 371303301 is located on the right side of the receiver. Condition report:
The blued finish on the receiver shows significant surface oxidation and freckling, particularly on the flats, with some thinning and finish loss on the high edges and magazine tube consistent with normal use. The wood furniture remains in good overall condition with some light handling marks and minor surface scratches, though the checkering remains relatively crisp. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been live-fire tested. The red rubber recoil pad shows some hardening and discoloration consistent with age.
