Gun Collectors Dream Auction #86 Collector Auction
Lot 1169:
Description
A collection of four 1971-S US Eisenhower uncirculated silver dollars produced by the San Francisco Mint. Each coin features the Eisenhower obverse and the Apollo 11 reverse design. The specimens remain in their original government packaging (OGP), popularly known as blue packs, which consists of a heat-sealed pliofilm packet housing the silver dollar alongside a blue plastic commemorative token. The lot includes the original US Mint informational cards which verify the 40% silver content of these uncirculated strikes. Unlike the mirror-like proof coins, these uncirculated dollars were produced on high-speed presses intended for collectors. Each coin contains approximately 0.3161 troy ounces of fine silver.
Diameter: 38.1 mm
Weight: 24.59 grams
Metal: 40% Silver.
Condition report:
Coins are in uncirculated condition with original mint luster. Surfaces show typical minor contact marks from the minting process and light natural peripheral toning consistent with long-term storage in original government pliofilm. The plastic packets and informational inserts are intact and well-preserved.
