Description
This Iver Johnson Target Sealed 8 is a double-action revolver chambered in .22 caliber, specifically configured for target shooting with an eight-shot capacity cylinder featuring countersunk chambers designed to enclose the cartridge heads. The firearm is equipped with a 6 inch barrel and maintains a blued finish across its primary metal components. The furniture consists of oversized one-piece walnut target grips that feature a hand-filling profile and a checkered diamond pattern on each side. Aiming is facilitated by a fixed brass-colored half-moon front sight and a rear sight notch integrated into the top strap. Prominent markings include the model designation -I.J. TARGET SEALED 8- and the manufacturer information I.J.A. & C. WKS. / FITCHBURG, MASS. U.S.A. stamped on the top of the frame. The serial number M 33685 is clearly visible on the underside of the trigger guard. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in good condition, retaining a significant amount of its original blued finish with visible thinning on the cylinder, barrel, and trigger guard. There are scattered light scratches and small dings throughout the metal surfaces. The oversized wood grips are in good condition, showing some surface wear and minor bruising to the wood, with the checkering remaining well-defined. The hammer and trigger show some mottled finish wear. The action appears to function correctly in both single and double action, though it has not been function-tested with live ammunition.
