Description
This Browning BAR Safari is a semi-automatic sporting rifle chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum, designed for high-power hunting applications. The rifle features a 24-inch blued barrel and a steel receiver decorated with decorative scroll engraving on both sides surrounding the word SAFARI, complemented by a gold-plated trigger. The furniture consists of a two-piece checkered walnut stock and forend with a high-gloss finish, equipped with sling swivel studs and a black rubber BROWNING embossed recoil pad. For optics, it is fitted with a Nikon Monarch UCC 3-9x40mm scope with a duplex reticle mounted on a Leupold one-piece base; the original factory front and rear iron sights are missing. Key markings include the serial number 311MZ19000 on the right side of the receiver and Belgian proof marks on the right side of the chamber area. Barrel markings on the left side read BAR CALIBER .300 Win. Mag. ONLY and BROWNING S.A. while the right side is marked BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. MADE IN BELGIUM – ASSEMBLED IN PORTUGAL. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle is in fair to good overall condition. The blued finish on the receiver and bolt shows scattered areas of surface oxidation and minor pitting. The barrel bluing is mostly intact but exhibits thinning at the muzzle and a few light handling scuffs. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The high-gloss wood stock and forend show scattered light scratches, dings, and surface impressions from use, though the checkering remains relatively crisp. The action appears to function correctly, though the firearm has not been function-tested. The optics are clear.
