Description
This lot consists of a total of 197 rounds of .22 Remington Jet centerfire ammunition, organized within four clear plastic Berry’s Manufacturing storage boxes. The collection includes a variety of projectile types, primarily jacketed soft point bullets and red polymer-tipped Hornady V-MAX bullets. The brass cartridge cases are marked with the headstamp R-P 22 REM JET, signifying original manufacture by Remington-Peters, though box labels indicate these are remanufactured or hand-loaded rounds. Handwritten labels on two boxes specify a load consisting of 12.8 grains of H4227 powder behind a 35-grain V-MAX bullet. A third box is hand-labeled as factory ammunition containing jacketed soft points, while the final box contains jacketed soft point rounds with a partially faded and illegible label. The .22 Remington Jet caliber was famously developed for the Smith and Wesson Model 53 revolver, and this collection represents a significant quantity of this specialized chambering.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in overall good condition, with the brass cases and primers exhibiting typical age-related tarnish and minor surface oxidation, most notably on the rounds in the center boxes. The projectiles appear well-seated with no significant deformation observed. The clear plastic storage boxes are intact, showing only light handling wear, and the lids remain functional for secure storage. As these are identified as remanufactured or hand-loaded rounds, they are sold for components or as-is.
