Description
This lot consists of a group of 66 rounds of vintage .45 Automatic centerfire ammunition contained within two original Western Super Match two-piece cardboard boxes. The cartridges represent a mixed collection and are not original to the packaging, featuring headstamps transcribed verbatim as WESTERN 45 AUTO and REM-UMC 45 ACP. The projectiles present are copper-jacketed round nose bullets, which differ from the lead clean-cutting projectiles specified on the box labels. The blue and yellow cardboard boxes feature prominent markings including the Western trade mark, SUPER MATCH, CENTER FIRE CARTRIDGES, 45 AUTOMATIC (Lead), 210 Grain Lead Clean Cutting Bullet, Non-Corrosive Priming, and Smokeless Powder. One end flap is marked with the product code 45AMRP. One box contains white wadding material used as internal packing.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear consistent with age, including frayed edges, corner dings, and surface staining. The ammunition exhibits a natural aged patina on the brass casings and primers, with visible oxidation and darkening throughout. As the lot contains mixed headstamps and components of significant age, this ammunition is sold for collectible purposes only; we have not function-tested these rounds.
