Description
This lot comprises 74 rounds of .222 Remington centerfire ammunition presented in four vintage cardboard boxes. The group consists of three original Remington Hi-Speed factory boxes and one box containing handloaded cartridges. The factory packaging is marked for 50 grain pointed soft point bullets with Kleanbore priming and carries index number 0722. The fourth box features a handwritten label for handloaded ammunition dated 2-15-70, which specifies the use of Hornady 53 grain match hollow point bullets, 20 grains of 4198 powder, CCI primers, and Remington cases at a velocity of 3200 feet per second. Prominent markings on the packaging include Remington Hi-Speed and 20 Center Fire Cartridges. All visible cartridges are headstamped R-P 222 REM. The cartridges feature brass casings with intact primers.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show significant signs of age and wear, including staining, edge fraying, and substantial surface paper loss on one box. The brass casings exhibit natural oxidation and tarnishing consistent with age. The ammunition appears to be live.
