Description
This lot consists of 26 rounds of .45-70 Government centerfire ammunition presented in a green MTM Molded Products Company plastic case. While the handwritten load data label applied to the interior of the lid references .30-30 Winchester for a Winchester Model 94, the physical cartridges are clearly identified by their headstamps as .45-70 Government. The collection features mixed brass from several manufacturers, including Remington-Peters marked R – P 45-70 GOVT, Federal Cartridge marked F C 45-70 GOVT, and Hornady marked HORNADY 45-70 GOVT. The rounds appear to be handloads featuring jacketed soft-point or hollow-point projectiles. The brass casings show varying levels of age-appropriate oxidation and surface tarnish.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in used condition with brass casings exhibiting scattered tarnish, oxidation, and surface discoloration consistent with age and storage. The primers appear to be seated properly in their pockets. One cartridge is oriented horizontally to demonstrate the jacketed soft-point bullet. The green plastic MTM storage case is functional with minor shelf wear and a handwritten load data sheet on the inner lid. As these appear to be hand-reloaded cartridges of unknown origin, we have not function-tested this ammunition and they are sold for components or display purposes only.
