Description
The Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket is a striker-fired, hammerless semi-automatic pistol chambered in .25 ACP, designed as a compact self-defense firearm. This specimen features a 2 inch barrel and is constructed with a blued steel frame and slide, complemented by a color case-hardened trigger. The pistol is equipped with checkered walnut grip panels featuring inset silver-tone Colt medallions and includes one single-stack magazine with the baseplate marked CAL. 25 / COLT. Prominent markings include the manufacturer and patent information on the left side of the slide reading COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. followed by patent dates concluding with JULY 31 1917. The right side of the slide is marked COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 25. The left side of the frame displays the serial number 368374, and the left trigger guard is stamped with a VP in a triangle proof mark and the numeral 1. Sighting is achieved through a recessed groove along the top of the slide. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The pistol\'s blued finish shows significant thinning, handling wear, and widespread surface oxidation consistent with its age and use. Faint case-hardened colors are still visible on the trigger. The checkered walnut grips are intact but exhibit wear and flattening to the texture. The action appears to function correctly, including the manual slide safety and the grip safety, though the firearm has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The bore was not inspected but the exterior condition suggests a well-used firearm. The included magazine shows finish wear and oxidation matching the pistol.
