Description
This lot consists of 400 rounds of Western Super-X .22 Long Rifle HP rimfire ammunition, housed in ten individual boxes of 40 cartridges each within an outer cardboard carton. Each cartridge is configured with a 40 grain copper-plated hollow-point bullet seated in a brass case. Prominent markings on the outer packaging include the Western Super-X logo, 22 LONG RIFLE HP, 40 GRAIN COPPERPLATED BULLET, and the product code W22LRHP. The inner boxes are similarly marked with 40 RIMFIRE CARTRIDGES and the manufacturer product code. Verbatim markings on the cartridge headstamps feature a stylized X symbol with the word SUPER integrated into the design. The packaging design is consistent with mid-20th century production by the Western Cartridge Company.
Condition report:
The outer cardboard carton and the ten individual inner boxes show signs of vintage shelf wear, including scuffing to the surfaces, minor corner crushing, and general age-related discoloration. The ammunition itself remains in good condition, with the brass cases appearing clean and free of heavy oxidation. The copper plating on the hollow-point bullets is intact. The cartridges appear to be live and well-preserved.
