Description
This is a single-shot tip-up target pistol chambered for .22 caliber rimfire cartridges, configured as a Stevens No. 35 Offhand model. The firearm features a 10-inch round barrel with a thinned blued finish, equipped with a hooded front sight and an adjustable rear leaf sight. The receiver is a nickel-plated iron frame featuring a spur-style trigger and a single-action hammer. The furniture consists of smooth, two-piece walnut grips secured with a single screw and brass escutcheons. Key markings include the manufacturer identification on the top barrel flat, which reads J. STEVENS A & T CO. over CHICOPEE FALLS MASS. The assembly number 51 is stamped on the right side of the barrel lug. This firearm is being sold as a parts pistol and is missing the barrel release lever and the firing pin. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The barrel retains approximately 40% of its original blued finish, showing thinning to a plum patina with scattered oxidation and areas of light pitting. The nickel-plated frame exhibits approximately 50% plating with significant losses, flaking, and pitting throughout the metal surfaces. The walnut grips show typical handling marks, dings, and scratches consistent with use but are free of major cracks. The bore is dark with moderate pitting but retains visible rifling. The action is currently incomplete and non-functional due to the missing release lever and firing pin.
