Description
This lot consists of a group of 126 rounds of .22 Short rimfire ammunition contained in three original period cardboard boxes. Two of the boxes feature a green and tan design labeled Lubricated Hi-Speed Bullets and Lubricated Bullets respectively, each featuring the Remington UMC Kleanbore logo. The third box displays a different green, red, and tan graphic for Remington Kleanbore Hi-Speed .22 Short Smokeless Cartridges and includes the DuPont company logo. Prominent markings on the packaging include Remington Arms Company, Inc., Bridgeport, Conn., and Ilion, N.Y., along with the designation Made in U.S.A. and non-corrosive, non-erosive claims. Individual cartridges are constructed with lead bullets seated in brass or copper-washed cases, each featuring a U headstamp on the rim. One box is partially full and contains supplemental paper wadding used as filler to stabilize the contents. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show moderate to heavy wear consistent with age, including scuffed surfaces, stained areas, and frayed or torn edges and corners. The ammunition exhibits a range of conditions; while many rounds appear relatively clean, others show significant lead bloom and oxidation on the bullets along with heavy tarnishing and patina on the brass and copper-washed casings. The rounds appear to be live; however, this ammunition is sold as a collectible item and has not been function-tested for safety or performance.
