Description
This Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve is a semi-automatic shotgun chambered for 12-gauge 2 3/4-inch shells. Manufactured in Belgium, it features a blued finish on its scroll-engraved receiver and a ventilated rib barrel equipped with a Hartford Multy-Choke Dyna-Magic adjustable muzzle device. The left side of the receiver is engraved with Light Twelve and BROWNING above the manufacturer’s bust logo. The barrel is marked BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo. and SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4 on the left side, while the right side is marked MADE IN BELGIUM and displays several Belgian proof marks including a crown over E, L, G in an oval and 12-70. The serial number G76351 is stamped on the underside of the receiver. The shotgun is fitted with a checkered walnut pistol-grip stock and matching forend, both exhibiting honest field wear and scuffs. Notable modifications include a brown rubber Pachmayr Gun Works recoil pad and added sling swivel studs on the buttstock and forend cap. The firearm is completed with a gold-plated trigger and a bright steel bolt. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The shotgun is in good condition with visible signs of field use. The blued finish on the receiver and barrel shows thinning on the high edges and scattered surface scratches. The walnut stock and forend show numerous dings, scratches, and finish wear consistent with field carry, particularly on the underside and side of the forend. The checkering remains crisp but shows light smoothing from handling. The action appears to function smoothly upon manual cycling, though the firearm has not been test-fired. The muzzle device shows some minor surface oxidation and wear. The Pachmayr recoil pad is intact but has begun to harden with age.
