Description
This lot consists of 40 rounds of Remington High Velocity .30-40 Krag centerfire ammunition. The cartridges are loaded with 180-grain Core-Lokt pointed soft point (PTD. SOFT PT.) bullets featuring a visible copper jacket, lead tip, and knurled cannelure. The collection is housed in two original green and yellow cardboard boxes, each containing a 20-round carrier tray; one tray is constructed of black plastic and the other of white styrofoam. Verbatim markings on the packaging include High Velocity, 20 Centerfire Cartridges, and product code R30402. The end labels specify 30-40 Krag, 180 Grain Core-Lokt PTD. Soft Pt., and Made in the U.S.A. Warning text appears in both English and French, with the lower box notably containing a printing error in the French translation identifying the contents as A PERCUSSION LATERALE despite the centerfire primers. Each cartridge is built on a rimmed brass case with headstamps clearly marked R – P 30-40 KRAG.
Condition report:
The ammunition is in overall good condition with signs of age-appropriate handling. The brass cases exhibit a natural darkening and some light surface oxidation, most notably on the bases and rims. The bullets are clean and remain firmly seated in the cases. Both cardboard boxes show moderate shelf wear, including edge fraying, corner bumping, and creasing, with some scuffs to the printed surfaces. The primers are original and show no evidence of firing or strike marks. The ammunition appears to be live.
