Description
This is an Anschutz Modell 1515 bolt-action rifle chambered in .22 Magnum, intended for precision small game hunting and target shooting. The firearm features a blued finish on the barrel and receiver, complemented by a smooth wood stock with a matching wooden buttplate and factory-installed sling swivels. The barrel is clearly marked Anschütz-Modell 1515 and Cal. .22 Magnum, while the receiver is marked Made by J.G. Anschütz GmbH, Waffenfabrik, Ulm/D. West Germany alongside the serial number 893583. Authentic West German proof marks, including an eagle over N and a 70 date code, confirm the rifle was manufactured in 1970. A discrete import mark for SIMPSON LTD G’BURG IL is present on the right side of the receiver. The rifle is fitted with a Simmons 4×32 .22 MAG scope featuring a duplex reticle, mounted to the receiver’s dovetail rail. It should be noted that the original iron sights have been removed, leaving the barrel dovetails open. One detachable box magazine is included with the firearm. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The rifle retains a high percentage of its original blued finish, showing only minor thinning on the barrel and light wear on high contact points of the receiver. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling. The bolt-action appears to function smoothly and correctly, though the firearm has not been live-fire tested. The wood stock is in good condition, exhibiting various minor surface scratches and small compressions consistent with moderate field use, but is free of cracks or major damage. The scope optics are clear with a sharp reticle.
