Description
The Winchester Model 100 is a gas-operated semi-automatic sporting rifle designed for hunting, chambered in the versatile .308 Winchester caliber. This example features a 22-inch barrel made of Winchester Proof Steel with a high-polish blued finish on both the barrel and the receiver. The furniture consists of a one-piece walnut stock featuring a capped pistol grip and detailed basket-weave checkering at the wrist and forend, further accented by carved oak leaf and acorn motifs. For sighting, the rifle is fitted with a Universal 4×32 fixed-power scope secured by Weaver 1-inch rings on a receiver-mounted rail, while also retaining its original iron sights including a folding adjustable rear leaf and a hooded front ramp. Included with the lot is one detachable four-round box magazine and a brown leather target-style sling. A brown slip-on Pachmayr Gun Works recoil pad has been added to the buttstock for increased comfort. Key markings include the barrel address —WINCHESTER— ® MODEL 100 CAL. 308 WIN.— MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL and the receiver serial number A253714. Condition report:
The rifle is in good used condition. The blued finish remains largely intact with minor thinning at the muzzle and light handling marks on the receiver. The action appears to function correctly with a smooth bolt cycle. The walnut stock is in good order, showing typical minor dings and surface scratches from field use, while the checkering and carvings remain well-defined. The optic has clear glass and a crisp duplex reticle. The included magazine shows moderate external wear but appears functional.
