Description
One Hamilton Grade 992B Railway Special railroad pocket watch accompanied by its original cardboard presentation box. The watch features a white dial with black Arabic hour numerals and a sub-seconds dial at the 6 o’clock position. The outer perimeter of the dial contains a Montgomery-style track with individual minute markings from 1 through 60. The dial is marked Hamilton and features blue-steeled hands. The case is constructed of 10 karat gold-filled metal, featuring a decorative engraved pattern on the bezel and side rim. The watch box is printed with an illustration of a steam locomotive and identifies the piece as Grade 992B, 21 Jewels, and 10K Gold Fill. The box identifies the manufacturer as Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and includes the tagline The Railroad Timekeeper of America.
Condition report:
The watch dial and crystal appear well-preserved. The gold-filled case exhibits heavy surface scratching and wear to the case back. There is localized wear to the metal finish on the edges and bow. The original cardboard box shows light soiling and shelf wear consistent with age, though the printing remains clear. The movement has not been tested for mechanical functionality.
