Description
This commemorative ceramic beer stein was handcrafted by Ceramarte of Brazil for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. It is the third release in a series of six within the Busch Family Series, issued for the 2003 State Convention. The stein features a high-relief, wrap-around design titled A Legacy of Quality, celebrating the presidency of Adolphus Busch III from 1934 to 1946.
The central imagery includes a portrait of Adolphus Busch III with an integrated nameplate. Surrounding the portrait are various historical and patriotic motifs, including a vintage red Busch Yeast delivery truck, a production milestone barrel marked 3,000,000, and period-accurate Budweiser bottle and flat-top can designs. The background depicts the iconic Anheuser-Busch brewery clock tower in St. Louis, a bald eagle in flight, and a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber labeled Buschwhacker.
The top rim is embossed with the phrase A LEGACY OF QUALITY in white lettering against a blue band. The base of the body is encircled by a blue band featuring raised gold stars and the Anheuser-Busch, Inc. script. The underside of the stein contains a detailed printed history of the brewery’s contributions during the Great Depression and World War II, along with the copyright date of 2002. The production number 35208 is stamped in gold ink.
Condition report:
This item is in excellent condition. There are no visible chips, cracks, or crazing to the ceramic body or glaze. The colors remain vibrant, and the printed text and gold-stamped serial number on the base are clear and fully legible.
