Description
This is a single Sturm, Ruger & Co. Speed-Six double-action revolver chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridge, a model historically favored for law enforcement and personal defense. The firearm features an approximately 2.75-inch barrel equipped with a fixed front blade sight and a frame-integrated rear gutter sight. The metal components are finished in a factory blued steel, and the revolver is fitted with round-butt checkered walnut grips featuring inset silver-toned Ruger eagle medallions. Key markings include the four-line manufacturer address and warning on the left side of the barrel: BEFORE USING GUN-READ WARNINGS IN / INSTRUCTION MANUAL AVAILABLE FROM / STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. / SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A. followed by a circled R. The right side of the barrel is stamped .357 MAGNUM CAL. The left side of the frame is marked RUGER SPEED-SIX next to the Ruger eagle logo. The full serial number 154-42624 is stamped into the bottom of the grip frame, and the rear face of the six-shot swing-out cylinder is stamped with the letter S. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The revolver is in good condition, showing honest wear consistent with carry and use. The blued finish exhibits thinning at the muzzle, on the cylinder crane, and along the high edges of the cylinder and frame. There is visible surface oxidation and light pitting on the unfinished sides of the hammer and on the trigger. The wooden grips remain solid but show numerous scuffs, dings, and small compression marks, particularly along the bottom surfaces. The bore was not inspected. The cylinder lockup and timing appear correct, and the double-action and single-action cycles function smoothly, although we have not function-tested this firearm.
