Description
A collection of three pairs of custom slab-style replacement grip panels designed for full-size 1911 semi-automatic pistols. The first pair is constructed from gold-toned metal featuring relief-engraved scrollwork surrounding a central horse head profile positioned within a horseshoe. The second pair consists of two-tone .925 sterling silver and gold-plated metal with ornate foliate scrollwork and central Texas star medallions. The reverse of this set is stamped with the marks MEXICO, 925, and 1911. The third pair features a black synthetic body with raised gold-toned scrollwork framing a central medallion. This medallion bears a five-pointed star and the circular inscription THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS 1836-1845. All three sets are configured for standard grip screw bushings.
Condition report:
Overall condition is good to very good. The gold-toned horse-motif metal grips show significant oxidation and patina on the interior surfaces and moderate wear to the exterior finish. The sterling silver and gold-plated Texas star grips are in very good condition with minor surface handling marks and a bright polish. The black synthetic Republic of Texas grips are in very good condition with no visible chips or cracks to the polymer and the gold-toned accents remain intact.
