Description
This is a Winchester Model 74 semi-automatic rifle chambered in .22 Long Rifle featuring a tubular magazine fed through the buttstock. The rifle is equipped with a blued steel barrel and receiver mounted in a one-piece walnut stock with a plain pistol grip. The stock terminates in a checkered steel buttplate featuring a central loading port for the magazine. Sighting equipment consists of a blade front sight, an adjustable rear ladder sight, and an aperture peep sight mounted to the rear of the receiver. Prominent barrel markings include MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. — MODEL 74 — WINCHESTER — NEW HAVEN CONN. — PATENT PENDING — .22 LONG RIFLE — TRADE MARK —. The receiver is stamped with the serial number 38773 and a WP proof mark is visible on both the barrel and the receiver. The rifle is fitted with a leather sling attached to swivel studs. Note – All firearms require a federal 4473 background check.
Condition report:
The blued steel finish on the barrel and receiver shows signs of thinning and light surface wear consistent with age and use. The walnut stock displays scattered handling marks, including several scratches and dings, particularly on the left side above the trigger guard. The action appears to function correctly, though it has not been function-tested with live ammunition. The leather sling is intact but shows significant cracking and wear. The bore was not inspected.
