Description
This vintage Canada goose decoy was manufactured by the General Fibre Company and is part of their Ariduk line. The decoy is constructed from molded fiber or wood pulp with a distinctive textured surface that resembles fabric. It features the characteristic markings of a Canada goose, with a black-painted head and neck, white cheek patches, and a grey and brown body. The body displays molded feather detailing throughout the back and wings. The head and neck are a separate component joined to the body at the base. The underside of the decoy has a molded rectangular mark identifying it as an ARIDUK model. A circular inset on the base contains a metal mesh-covered vent hole and a small metal attachment pin used for weighting or anchoring.
Condition report:
Good condition consistent with age and field use. There is observable paint loss on the beak, tail, and along the edges of the body. Surface scuffing and minor cracking are present on the molded fiber, particularly near the neck joint and underside.
