Description
This lot features a Spanish Destroyer bolt-action carbine chambered for the 9mm Bergmann cartridge, also known as 9mm Largo. This compact firearm is designed with a blued steel barrel and receiver mounted on a one-piece wood stock that extends nearly to the muzzle. Key markings include the manufacturer’s trademark logo on the receiver bridge depicting a ship within an oval surrounded by the words DESTROYER and TRADE MARK. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the serial number 31468 and the caliber designation CAL 9 M/M BERGMANN. The barrel is marked with Spanish proof marks, including the Eibar house proof and the date code G1, which indicates the carbine was manufactured in 1961. It is equipped with a hooded blade front sight and a tangent rear sight graduated for range adjustment. The stock features side-mounted sling swivels, a semi-pistol grip, and a serrated metal buttplate. This firearm comes with two detachable box magazines. Condition report:
The carbine retains a significant portion of its original blued finish, though it shows thinning and wear consistent with service, particularly on the sharp edges of the receiver and barrel. There are scattered areas of light surface oxidation and minor peppering on the metal surfaces. The bore is bright with well-defined rifling and only slight evidence of frosting in the grooves. The bolt-action mechanism appears to cycle smoothly and the magazine release functions as intended, though we have not function-tested this firearm with live ammunition. The wooden stock is in good overall condition with numerous small nicks, dings, and service-related scratches throughout the finish. The metal buttplate shows some thinning of the finish and light oxidation.
