Description
A lot of 40 rounds of Peters Rustless center fire smokeless ammunition chambered in .45 Colt featuring lead bullets and brass cases. This collection consists of 40 individual cartridges, each featuring a silver-toned primer and a headstamp marked PETERS .45 COLT. The cartridges are contained within a two-piece cardboard box. The label on the top of the box is marked 50 PETERS RUSTLESS OIL-TITE .45 COLT CENTER FIRE SMOKELESS LEAD BULLET FOR COLT ARMY AND NEW SERVICE REVOLVERS. The reverse of the box features extensive text regarding the Peters Rustless Priming Composition, referencing U. S. A. Patent No. 1,879,278, and listing the PETERS CARTRIDGE DIVISION REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY, INC. KINGS MILLS, OHIO below a red DUPONT logo. The box is an original cardboard container with a blue and tan color scheme and a prominent red RUSTLESS bar. A wooden spacer is included inside the box to secure the contents.
Condition report:
The ammunition appears to be in live condition with the brass cases exhibiting moderate to heavy tarnishing and the lead bullets showing surface oxidation typical of age. The cardboard box is in poor condition, displaying significant structural wear, missing sections at several corners, heavy fraying, and multiple adhesive tape repairs. The interior wooden spacer remains intact.
